Game resale question (Can I get a trade or should I sell?)?

Alright, my friend sent me a game for my birthday through the mail. But unbeknown to him is that I don’t have the console to play said game anymore. The game still has it’s factory seal, but he didn’t send a receipt.
I was wondering if I would get a good deal if I took it to a game store (i.e. Gamestop) or if they would offer me the trade in value for the new game or if they would let me trade in at full value.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

trade in value
and they may not take a sealed game from you as its a good sign to them its been stolen
Alright, your friend sent you a game, and you used to have the system. If its a old system like game cube, playstation2, or xbox (1) then probably you should sell, but any game even if it is a new release on the xbox360, ps3, or Wii. It still would not sell as it original price your friend gave it to you. So your actually losing money. I suggest if you got a friend who likes to buy a video game or eBay would be better if the price it too low for you.
