Help with the e 74 error code, xbox 360?
So I got the dreaded E 74 error code on my xbox 360 Elite. I have already tried making sure that the system was not overheated, I tried unplugging the cables and checked all of the controllers. Still getting the message, so I know I’ll have to send it in.
I haven’t even had the machine for a year, but I did not buy an extra warranty. The guy at the game store informed me that because I was going with the Elite, my system came with guaranteed warranty, and I don’t remember receiving any papers?
Anyways do they fix my machine or do they send me a new one? I’ve heard that you should remove the hard drive, I don’t even know where it is located. I’m such a noob >__>
If they fix my machine, will I lose my save files? Is it necessary to remove the hard drive? Will it cost me anything to send it in to get fixed?
they do replace it and yes you remove the hard drive (its on the top of the xbox) and no you will not lose files and it is necessary to remove the hard drive and it wont cost you unless you had your xbox for more than 3 years
